We’ve received much appreciated feedback on this year’s GSR. The consensus is “we need a break, let’s do it!”
We are going ahead with this year’s GSR, scheduled for August 20th – 23rd. We are not expecting a big turnout, but we don’t think things will change much for a while.
With that in mind here is the plan:
- Day rides on Friday and Saturday, leaving about 10AM and returning about 1-2PM to avoid the worst of the heat. Brownbag lunch with a stop to eat along the route.
- Social activities will be conducted with CDC Guidelines in mind:
- Maintain 6′ distance in gatherings
- Wear masks when possible
- Wash hands frequently
- Optional temperature checks throughout the event.
- As always with riding, everyone respects the safety of others.
Shortly before the ride, we will set-up the text alert system as in year’s past. We’ll keep you posted on how and when to sign-up.
Unfortunately, due to “Stay At Home” orders extending through May 15th, we will not be able to keep our May Dates. We have contacted the Kernville Inn and they we able to advise us that the 3rd weekend in August is wide open.
New Dates: August 20th – 23rd, 2020
Everything will be the same, except the dates. The Kernville Inn can easily move your current reservation to the August dates. If you need to cancel all together, can cancel without penalty up to 3 days before your reservation.
So where do we go from here:
- Book (change) your room reservation.
- Check your bike. (Tires, oil, chain)
- Sign up for our Text Alert List (available 2 weeks before on the website)
- Polish your leathers, pack your Speedo, and ride!
See you in August!
I would like to share this comment posted a few days ago from Nancy Jones. Thank-you Nancy.
It will be 13 years this May since Martin Jones had an accident on your annual trip. He died June 12, 2018 in Guerneville CA.
He would have enjoyed seeing all of you as you passed through this year. He had fond memories of riding with the group. He was never able to ride again but, kept a Ducati in his garage in the hope that he might ride again.
Please remember him on your ride this year.
Thank you Torr for helping me with some of Martin’s gear.
No, really, it’s time to get a room.
There’s currently plenty of rooms available, but there’s no guarantee as the GSR 2020 gets closer. Reserve your room now. Cancellations are much easier than late reservations.
Take a look at the ‘Lodging‘ page on this site for lodging suggestions. If you intend to stay at the Kernville Inn (our official host location) call in your reservation rather that booking online to be eligible for any group discount we might receive.
See you in May!
-Your GSR Coordinators
Our thanks to Homoto Motorcycle Club for coordinating an amazing ride in Guerneville this year! Their efforts paid off creating another fun gathering of gay friendly riders.
Now, get ready for GSR 2020!
